Christian Survival Is WORK
Revelation Chapters 1-3
JESUS SAID a prophetic warning in 2003 …
“Don’t get caught up in the things going on in the world around you. Don’t get caught up in the “spirit” upon the city where you dwell. And, ABOVE ALL, don’t get caught up in the “spirit” upon the churches in the city where you dwell. Keep your individual loyalty to Me.”
This is no strange statement from the Lord Jesus Christ. He provides to all Christians a reliable direction for our surviving and thriving in response to local events and events in the world around us. The condition of a Christian’s heart with God can vary when we see and experience events. Satan does evil events to make our eyes see, hoping to make our hearts melt in fear and hopelessness of the power of JESUS to overcome it.
JESUS is your only way out of WHATEVER!
Lord Jesus warned of what the world is increasingly becoming and what the churches are increasingly becoming. It is laid out “plainly” in His Revelation He gave to his friend and apostle, John (Book of Revelation Chapters 1-4).
Furthermore, it is confirmed throughout the entire 66 prophet Scriptures that Jesus referenced as the official Holy Bible.
Revelation 1:17-20
18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. 19 Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter; 20 The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches.
The “angels” are pastors. JESUS has appointed pastors accountable to Him — even to die — to deliver what Jesus has said to you, both then and TODAY.
Your obedience exalts His authority right in the midst of evil surrounding you. We, pastors, are judged to Heaven or Hell based on our faithfulness to Jesus in this charge!

Revelation Chapter Three
12 And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write; These things saith he which hath the sharp sword with two edges;
13 I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where Satan’s seat is: and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth.
14 But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication. 15 So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate. 16 Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth. 17 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.
Fr the pastor of a church in Pergamos, the reliable direction for survival in the midst of local and world events was to keep his or her individual loyalty to Jesus DESPITE all that Satan was doing in the city and region.
Brother Antipas was living holy and exhorting others to turn from any sins, admitting them and obeying Jesus for reward and power! He was killed for that.
There was and is daily hatred of the Gospel Jesus preached — “REPENT”
See Matthew 4:14-17.
REPENT was the Gospel Jesus preached that caused the Christians to live with harassment, ridicule, and rejection from socializing in their neighborhoods. BUT JESUS planted them in those neighborhoods … for Himself — to continue His words and His accompanying miracle love for their neighbors despite that treatment. They offered their bodies and hearts for Jesus use.
Your Reliable Direction Toolbox For Christian Survival
It is unavoidable to be touched by what’s going on around us. Jesus was touched as we are. He endured Roman occupation of his country and the oppression of His flesh kinsmen by government authorities whom God promoted to office to protect them (Romans 13).
Roman police, acting by government orders or on their own private vigilantism against His Jewish kins-people, plus the rejection, despise, and rivalry against him by His own kins-people (whom He only came to help) were disheartening to Lord Jesus as it is to us. These daily expressions of hate were not things Christians could overlook, pretending in a spiritual la-la land that they did not exist.
Every time His followers brought these sufferings and country troubles up to Jesus, Jesus responded to them: To remain loyal to Him in character and maintain focus on His Father’s business of turning people from their sins. They were to turn people to believing and obeying the power of Jesus Christ and away from living under the power of Satan. They were to, also, receive the Holy Spirit Baptism by Jesus Christ for power over Satan. Satan’s works of sin, sickness, disease, poverty, and death demand the miracle of God’s spiritual wisdom as power for Christian Survival. Christian Survival Is WORK! He tells us to work out our own soul’s salvation with fear and trembling until He returns for us!
That’s why we preachers risk all and lose all to PREACH! We risk all to preach JESUS CHRIST and His words. Your victory over any evil power is to hear and obey Jesus’ words versus the reactions that your own fleshly mind tempts you to do!

In the midst of the invasion of Ukraine, our own country’s similar seditious or insurrectionist elements from within, the open murder of Mr. George Floyd, and unfathomable evil toward our little boy locally in Idaho — Emrik Osuna — and with new world dilemmas every day (now, it’s the war of Hamas on Israel):
It is critical to keep our focus on loyalty to obeying JESUS CHRIST and gain the prize of His approval.

Final Words For Christian Survival and Reliable Direction
God’s reality is only interest in what He is doing for the return of His Son Jesus Christ to judge the world, end the evil, and start anew with His love in everyone. Our happiness or misery depends on how we each choose to fit into HIS reality. That is a reliable direction to take.
Live in “hourly” obedience to Jesus Christ. He can come at any minute and how you are living in the moment when He comes is how He judges you for all eternity — there is no more second chance to repent if you are caught in that condition. See Revelation 22:11 in multiple versions:
