Update March 2026: Proud and Haughty Hearts Are Derived From a “Lying Spirit”

This main evil spirit seeking control of all churches in Boise and Treasure Valley is a Lying Spirit — as seen in 1 Kings chapter 22 and notice verses 19-23. He has succeeded in many churches … perhaps even most … if we observe the effect we are having upon our surrounding communities in accepting sin in the church and outside.

 

Every city in America has its own specialized assignment of devils from Satan. Every country has them, too. However, only God judges the hearts of the people and decides whether He will use a city or nation for Jesus’ kingdom.

The Lying Spirit” (producing the proud and haughty hearts of the above Scriptures) has a purpose to persuade Christians to take lightly or rebel against obedience to Jesus’ way of living while “simultaneously” pursuing study of the Holy Bible and pride about scholarship in the Bible.

In puffed up arrogance about Bible knowledge, this main evil spirit (the Lying Spirit) “blinds” preachers, pastors and others from seeing what really matters to the Lord Jesus even while reading and studying about God.

Traits of The Lying Spirit

The Lying Spirit:  Instead of cheerful and trembling obedience (Isaiah 66:1-2), renders proud and haughty hearts which  dissect the Holy Bible to invent their own lying ideas about righteousness. A person with a Lying Spirit from Satan expresses himself or herself with either scorning others, intentional humiliating others, gainsaying, debating about intelligence, or arguing over dots, i’s, syllables and etymologies of the Holy Scriptures (Holy Bible). Therefore, Jesus gave commandment and a sign of a true preacher — which is “gentleness and must not strive” (fighing to harm with words, thoughts or actions). See 2 Timothy 2:24.

What follows is just the effect that Satan wants on the surrounding community and an effect that Jesus warned against in His New Testament. Our motives begin to blend with sinners’ motives, pursuits and desires for the honors, possessions and powers of the world we live in and for acceptance by the churches.

Sinners blend with us in the churches as being acceptable in their sin condition because all focus is upon studying the Bible like it’s a college textbook instead of studying to expose our hearts as aligned or misaligned with Jesus. That makes us proud and haughty concerning Bible Study and even about the number of persons from the outside world who attend. Since the focus is upon scholarship, we are often offending the Lord during worship, praise and church events — aka lying.

The Lying Spirit produces proud and haughty hearts in men, women, youth and even children who (often unaware) are working for his master, Satan. Proud and haughty hearts in pastors and other “leadership” have revived the same spiritual environment that Jesus was born into and came to rescue preachers and followers out of!

One aspect of that spiritual climate which Jesus came into was a religious elite ruling their brethren by their own “self-approved higher educated knowledge of the religious laws” (the Scriptures). Today, we have reinvented the same elitist class of religious scholars that Jesus came to undo!

While we continue to tell people that they need to come to Christ Jesus, He is being reduced to mere scholarly subject matter and even sinners are welcome to offer authoritative rebuttal on Bible passages!

The Scriptures say that Jesus was born as a root out of a dry ground (Isaiah 53). The spiritual atmosphere He was born into was dry — no “life” of God and no life with God was produced by those in charge of instructing how to worship God. They could not produce life because they were focusing on academics of the Jewish Scriptures — knowing the book.

They were so proud and haughty in spirit that they, angrily, blurted out concerning Jesus — “How does this man know these things since he has not studied letters?” (John 7:15) However, Jesus Christ is GOD visiting in human flesh — so what a proud, haughty and abominablely arrogant blurting that was!

John 7:14-16

14 Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught.

15 And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?

16 Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.

Common man’s talk would be — Jesus hasn’t been to divinity college (acquiring letters like M.Div, D.Th.) and received a formal degree conferred by us as having proper knowledge and interpretaion of the Scriptures to be authorized to speak to the people expounding them.

The religious leaders around Jesus were more interested in Jesus’ knowledge than in His godly way of living and His teaching us how to live godly. They were preoccupied with book-learning and scholarship and not with humble pursuit of knowing JESUS and what He was saying to them about their own lives so they could change!

Contrastingly, when Jesus chose His disciples, He chose the opposite — men and women who were NOT taught to dissect the holy Scriptures as if they were common textbooks for scholarship. In our day this dissecting is termed theological and biblical hermeneutics, eschatology, and theology.

Those who were used by Jesus to save our souls from Satan’s power and eternal damnation were ignorant men — unlearned –not formally trained in the dots, and i’s of the current languages and texts. They were just people — people humbly admitting their need to know right from wrong in pleasing God.

Whenever we Christians (or Non-Christians) find ourselves reading Scripture to dissect it historically or on its face words instead of reading to learn “what is Jesus pointing out to me about myself for me to get right with Him”, we have become just what the Scriptures say — “knowledge puffeth up” — which means we have become influenced or controlled by an evil spirit from Satan making us proud and haughty — The Lying Spirit.

Christians don’t notice when they are becoming of the same spirit that the religious leaders who crucified Jesus were of. It, usually, starts with “church protocol” — exalting man-made rules (commandments of men, Jesus’ Gospel called it) about how your church is operated and how worship and teaching is done instead of humble seeking and obeying what Jesus wants in His own church!

Pastors in modern churches can find themselves having the same attitudes that the Pharisees had … we refuse to follow your commands Jesus because our interpretation of Scripture is superior to yours and, therefore, contradicts much that you, Jesus, infer. Yes, they thought Jesus was merely inferring things from Scripture — having His own interpretation as equal as theirs. They rejected Him as THE authority on Scripture. By being God in flesh — Jesus IS the Holy Scriptures.

It’s difficult to believe we are like that. However, a Lying Spirit seeks to control all Jesus’ churches with that same proud and haught heart. He works for Satan to persuade us to exalt a “lying knowledge” about the Bible instead of living the Bible Jesus who IS the Bible.

We must ALL be very watchful of thinking we are completely right when God begins to send promptings that, perhaps, we must revisit what we have been taught or have believed. Peter was more anointed with the Holy Spirit than any of us preachers in Boise-Treasure Valley, yet HE WAS WRONG ABOUT HIS STAND ON SCRIPTURE and was being an example of wrong to the churches! Yes, Jesus had to reach Peter by letting him get hungry for food and using that moment to drive home the point — ‘you are wrong Peter and STOP IT!” What must Jesus do to you to get you to drop your wrong and false doctrines that you are teaching the church members and spreading throughout the Valley while accusing preachers who don’t agree with YOU of being wrong or false?

THE GLORIFIED PRACTICE OF DEBATE

2 Timothy 6:3-5, Isaiah 3:16

The practice of debate was an effort to avoid obeying Timothy’s authority from the Lord sent by the Lord to teach them how to live pleasing to the Lord.

The same motive of Bible debate is in many Pastors and Christian brethren today. Rather than submit to preachers proclaiming godliness, many pastors and Christians in Boise, the Treasure Valley, and throughout America will try to debate against godly preachers with gainsaying over Bible topics and their own dissecting of its words. This is because much attention and time is spent on studying the Bible to become “skilled in the Bible”. Satan knows the Bible and is masterfully skilled in dissecting it against the life of Jesus Christ.

Both Timothy and Titus rebuked those debating pastors and Christian brethren  — to focus them upon learning to live pleasing to God instead of boasting and debating over their knowledge of the Scriptures.

They were to keep their minds on things that reflect Jesus’ heart as revealed in His Gospels and those preaching epistles (mailed letters) from His apostles. Many ideas that Christians were beginning to talk about came from their own pride and haughtiness in studying the Scriptures and that pride and haughtiness came from devils posing as “lying spirits” sent by Satan as in 1 Kings chapter 22.

That is the same today as doctrines from the Devil are invented by nit-picking on our favorited topics, dissecting the words of the Bible, and having no respect for those actually sent by Jesus to warn and correct — 1 Timothy 6:3-5.

³ If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;

⁴ He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,

⁵ Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

IMPORTANT:

• Proof that we have come to elevate scholarly research of Bible words over simple godly living through Jesus Christ will happen if you read the above statement from Timothy or the below statement from Titus and immediately start disecting it!

• Example: “That’s out of context. He isn’t speaking about godly living. He’s speaking specifically about how to treat an employer OR he isn’t speaking about godly living, he’s speaking specifically about discussing Jewish laws”.

Titus 3:8-9

⁸ This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.

Answer

When time is being occupied with admiration of ourselves debating or dissecting the Bible, Satan distracts us from being occupied with fearing to obey Christ’s royal law and His kingdom ways of living. Then, we fail to be lighting up only JESUS in the way we live and interact with others in Boise. The end result is we focus on dead doctrines that cannot produce the living heart of Jesus Christ in us and Satan wins souls IN THE CHURCH to destroy them, eternally.

Most of you got the answer right for the October Poll. Fifty percent clicked “Haughty Spirit” (Lying Spirit). The remaining votes were divided  25% and 25% for the Spirit of Bondage that stops Christians from preaching Jesus’ ways with meekness and wisdom or the Spirit of Infirmity that causes rampant sickness and diseases among those who follow Jesus Christ. Those evil spirits are certainly here in Boise, but realize that having a proud and haughty attitude from the Lying Spirit will bring all the others (along with their troubles) into your life.

Another possible answer was the spirit of whoredom which tempts you to do things disloyal to God. That course, naturally, starts from a proud and haughty attitude — the Lying Spirit — tempts us to resent correctionQ All sin starts with a Lying Spirit and the pride versus a humble heart that can enjoy corrective wisdom for life (Proverbs 15:10). This is why the Lying Spirit is the main evil demonic being from Satan who is working to control all Jesus’ churches in Boise and the Treasure Valley.
