Seek To Be Keeping Faith

Recently in April 2025, I had felt so trusting and comfortable visiting Bible Missionary Church on Roosevelt across from Morris Hill Park and Cemetery, where Pastor Anthony is serving as interim pastor.

Sadly, I suddenly experienced from the pulpit during every prayer time the introduction of personal politics into the prayer by the interim pastor. I have not returned, although my soul loved the little congregation that seems to be working hard to be keeping faith in the things Jesus loves!

UPDATE: Led to visit again!

They have, thus far, committed to stick with the pure Gospel of Jesus and not try to attract or keep members by offering politcs or  the assembly-line experience of bistros, food, and more food versus fasting (some call ‘fellowship’), and many other customer service business practices — thus far. Bible Missionary Church is not proud when Pastor Anthony spoke to me with such humility — “we’re trying.”

BUT, led to visit again by the Lord, I saw good new things …

PRAISE JESUS, PASTOR ANTHONY REPENTED and began to pray for our President Trump in the way that Jesus commands us to. We all have prayed for our various elected officials according to  1st Timothy 2:1 — but do we pray the specific things the way, the manner) that Jesus said to pray for officials? Once repented, Pastor Anthony did NOT introduce any politics anywhere at anytime in the prayers to our Lord. It was wonderful!

Repentance shows that a man — any man — (or woman) has a heart of humility. God always works with the humble (Isaiah 66:1-2) and God ONLY works with the humble. When any of us is missing prayer answers, the first thing we should check is our humility walk.

Jesus can work through and move with a man or woman who will humble themselves to check the Gospel and check themselves. Jesus cannot work with any preacher who isn’t always open to change. For the humility he showed to the LORD, I commend Pastor Anthony.

Apostle Paul, teaching and training Preacher Timothy how to conduct himself in church meetings, Paul commanded in Jesus’ Name 1 Timothy 2:1-4.

1 Timothy 2:1-4

1) I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2) For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. 3) For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; 4) Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

Pastor Anthony, now, leads the people to pray as the BIBLE (New Testament of Jesus Christ) teaches.

Therefore, when a local sister-friend asked me if in my travels and trials among pastors and churches in Treasure Valley, “Have you found ANY church that seems to be still doing right toward the Lord?” I was able to say, “Bible Missionary Church” has a heart to sanctify themselves to the Lord and teach newcomers the life of repentance FIRST, for salvation, and holiness for keeping your salvation.

Also, I have sent young men there to learn the foundation that any man (or woman) must have. Our young men today need the old school foundation restored to them for obeying Jesus. You cannot know the Lord when most preaching, teaching, and fellowship is trying to win you to their church by making life inside an easy transition by making things as close as possible to what you are required to forsake.

The order of their worship is as commanded to Timothy — first prayers –and the focus of their worship is prayers, psalms- hymns – and spiritual songs, testimonies,  and the preached Word.

There is no praise band entertainment as the introduction to worship. You will not find gangster rap, heavy metal, rock, nor country — just reminders of what it cost Jesus and how grateful they are to be saved and living sanctified to the Lord.

There is prayer ON THEIR KNEES (for all physically able). Who does that anymore? Most pastors and churches feel irreverently comfortable  to NOT KNEEL BEFORE ALMIGHTY GOD, anymore. You will look strange to them if you do so.

Pastor Anthony has a faithfulness to visit — PERSONALLY — the various members of the church AND ANYONE ELSE SOMEONE ASKS HIM TO VISIT. JESUS VISITED PERSONALLY. Jesus did not send Peter or James, John or Bartholomew in his place. He loves you AND KNOWS YOU PERSONALLY. Pastor Anthony is a good example of the original Gospel in this particular behavior.

He, also, has a faithfulness to tell the unsaved the straight, not sugar-coated truth of the condition of their soul, especially if they are sick and dying — but does so with tenderness.

It helps that Pastor Anthony and the members are in unity on one particular thing: They do NOT WANT YOU TO DIE IN SIN and GO TO HELL … and they show the life of holiness to prevent that happening to you.

Yes, there are some things you won’t like, which is common to most churches, including Truth Seekers Church but so far Pastor Anthony has none of the excesses of worldliness and catering to people’s flesh that has gripped modern designer-churches, which all look the same cookie-cutter church business “model”. I am amazed that even Pentecostals are beginning to follow the modern church business-model.

Today, I visited one of the modern designer-churches to show the Lord and them that I love them, have no oughts, no competition attitude, no judging attitude.

However, I could not stay because the worship was SIN.

• Pitch black, COMPLETELY, dark rock band type stage and singing which is, now, common for “worship”
• Women, FREELY,  UNASHAMED and UNCHECKED walking around in this building dedicated for worshiping Jesus —  having little clothing on! Much nakedness.
• Much attention to providing “fellowship or hospitality” with the most massive hall for just sitting around while worship was going on in the pitch black “sanctuary”.

I was having conscience troubles trying to love the brethren and make them feel that I was a guest trying to just go along with how they “do” church while, simultaneously, feeling Holy Spirit convicting me of participting in their sinful ways of “worship”!

Do I choose who is doing sinful worship? Who am I?

NO, IT’S NOT MY OWN JUDGMENT. IT’S THE LORD WHO TESTIFIES HIS DEFNITION AND FEELINGS ABOUT SINFUL WORSHIP.

HE USES ISAIAH 66 and OTHER TESTIMONIES.  We must hate the sin that offends Jesus Christ and must not let sin be “accepted” by us or in us as — ‘worship’.

Finally, I came to this conscience and Scriptural (Holy Bible) conclusion to help others:

 “If you visit a pastor’s work, aka church, and you observe that the work, worship, or environment is SIN or accepting sin, do NOT feel compelled to stay.”

• Do not feel compelled to stay and participate because of guilt that you are offending the pastor and members by being seen leaving.

• Do not feel compelled to stay and participate because you will be accused of “judging” them and you don’t want to do that!

• Do not feel compelled to stay and participate because you will be accused of thinking you are ‘holier than thou’ (them).

• Do not feel compelled to stay and participate because the pastor and brethren will be offended that you left, especially if you left as soon as you came.

• Do not feel compelled to stay and participate because WE ARE ALL CHRISTIANS SERVING AT DIFFERENT LEVELS OF MATURITY. If the worship environment and welcoming method is SIN to the Lord, it doesn’t matter that you or they try to label it as growth and maturity or everybody being welcome as they are. You owe the LORD ONLY when it comes to your eternal soul!

• Do not feel compelled to stay and participate because you fear that you will be in sin if you don’t go to church by disobeying Jesus’ command that you not forsake assembling. That does not mean you are to pierce your pure conscience by participating in what you feel convicted by God is wrong! Never do ANYTHING that you feel convicted of sin by participating in — Romans 14:23. Remember the churches of Revelation. If you are in the number when Jesus shows up, you get the judgment he puts on the pastor and all those following his or her ways in that church! See Revelation Chapters 1-3.

• Do not feel compelled to stay and participate because the people are friendly and you haven’t been able to find a church to call home or even go to visit, regularly. KEEP SEARCHING – JESUS KNOWS YOU ARE SEEKING HIM, DESPARATELY. Stay away from churches where you feel so strongly that what they are doing in the worship, fellowship, sacraments. or anything else is “unseemly”. Stay away so  that you don’t become used to the environment and forget how sinful it is. Keep praying for the Lord to raise up local pastors who fear Him to pastor you. He will hear your prayer!

• Don’t feel compelled to stay and participate because they do good “Bible Study”, fun youth groups, or any other singular reason. Satan’s successful method is always to mingle a little of God’s good with all his own satanic stuff. He gets your soul either way. Satan has always been the greatest substitute Bible Teacher. You would be AMAZED HOW MANY BIBLE STUDIES ARE LED BY A “CHRISTIAN” WHO IS UNQUALIFIED, ACCORDING TO JESUS, TO TEACH HIS WORDS TO YOU. Jesus said, “The devils believe (in Jesus) and tremble.” Satan is so good at knowing the Bible more than you or I (if we don’t cling to Jesus – Luke 4:1-15!

Bible Missionary Church has demonstrated, since I first visited in February 2025, some pastor-heart attitudes and Christian-member attitudes that are acceptable and commendable before our Lord Jesus. In addition, they are loyal to preach God the Father, Jesus Christ as the Son of God and Word of God, and the precious Holy Spirit of God — the three heart-felt expressions of God about Himself to the whole world.

Therefore, I visit there because my soul feels safe. After the Lord led me to write this good marking under “Love That Marks” , He has led me to stop visiting for a long time.  I still mark the good  as well as the bad when Jesus commands me to. I “have peace in my spirit with Christ” to tell anyone they can visit Bible Missionary Church, if God leads you to do so. I believe with all my heart that your SOUL will be safely guarded from eternal damnation. That is all that matters. When it comes to varied doctrines among different denominations, it’s where your soul is safe — the rest is petty. Strangely, many times that petty stuff? The petty stuff turns out to be what is making the church worship environment and relationships dangerous to your soul and spirit survival.

As for the love of God (which you should always monitor in ANY church when visiting or attending as a member, including Truth Seekers Church) you will have to make that judgment call for yourself concerning Bible Missionary Church. The entire church world throughout the nation still seems more concerned about theology. I did not get to determine if I was ever “loved” as a sister in Christ Jesus because I was always treated with welcome and great warmth as a visiting “guest”. My standard for the love of Jesus Christ is high and holy — it is the standard our Lord Jesus, himself, who has set this standard and is returning to judge us for it:

“A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.”
