Reverence must be restored for the Church as being God’s pillar and ground for His Truth and an intimate marriage between He and His disciples. This gets people right with God —  or back right with God.

Church As A  Service (C.A.A.S.)

Is never lived or preached by Jesus’ apostles and the original Christians.

C.A.A.S. –“Church As A Service” — that you can join to as being offered to the public for uplifting them from their troubles is NOT lived or preached by Jesus in His Gospel – See Acts, Chapter 5 verse 13. Acts 5:13 tells us the great effect of Christians and church upon the sinner-public and other Christians.

¹³ “And of the rest durst no man join himself to them: but the people magnified them.“

Acts 5:10-16

Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband.

¹¹ And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things.

¹² And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon’s porch.

¹³ And of the rest durst no man join himself to them: but the people magnified them.

¹⁴ And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.)

¹⁵ Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.

¹⁶ There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.

Thinking of church as a service for the community and one by which we beg them to “Please Come Worship With Us” has destroyed:

• Our identity as Christians. What IS a Christian?

• Our unique culture Jesus gave us for living differently than the un-saved  existence we once had with everybody else around us

• Our acknowledged and sought after power against darkness in the cities, and the glory of what it means to be a Christian.

 

 “Church As A  Service” has turned Jesus’ goal from preaching repentance and holiness for our blessings to preaching “acceptance” and come as you are to fill our buildings with tithe-paying human beings who keep lights on and finance the growth of “our ministries”.

 

From Holy Spirit 

 

The business-like goal of customer attraction and customer servicing occupies our perspective and our time. Members focus on exalting their pastor, their church, their community involvement in the world, their multiple number of store sites (campuses versus churches) and store hours (service times). Such has never been the Gospel commanded by our Lord Jesus Christ which put the holy fear of God into entire cities and a reverence for his people for living holy lives.

We, the pastors of recent generations, have catered to the public trying to persuade them to “join a church” and  Satan has succeeded in eradicating the fear of God in America through this irreverent attitude of approaching God and his people.

Church, originally, was reverenced as people of holiness and prayer who were ashamed of their past sins and changed to the faith of obedience to JESUS. The public only came around them for these reasons:

• To get right with God
•  
•  
• Or, while being around them keeping mindful of the need to get right with God, therefore limiting their behavior to only reverent conduct while around them

• Or came to persecute them (Acts 5:13) for living holy and proclaiming Christ’s holiness.

Sinners understood their visit permitted in our churches was under rules and regulations for RESPECT toward God’s house, for getting right with God, and for learning how to treat Him.

Today … our own Christian kids and adults walk around and talk during prayer. Praise and worship teams are the draw or attraction to God’s house (this became the norm copied by pastors throughout the nation as a means of gaining visitors and new members). Today, does anyone even remember what it is to pray kneeling before holy God as the first apostles and Christians always did and as Jesus did.

Since we are so advanced today with God, we just “sit” casually in His presence like he’s one of our board members in conference with us!

Reflecting on all this, we must answer to God that the result of Church As A Service is that we Christians — and the public through us — are no longer priority-interested in “What is Jesus saying to me, now”? We are only interested in “where do you meet and what are your programs or activities for my family?”

The very first thing out of anyone’s mouth concerning church (because we have all been conditioned) is “where” is your church and the second thing coming out is “how many are there”? What does either question have to do with your soul! Are you right with God! CAN HE SEE THE CHANGE HE WANTS? Do you want to know what He is feeling and thinking about you?!!!

I say this with utmost boldness and authority because the Lord Jesus rebuked me as His prophet in 1999 when I asked him concerning his starting a church in Tulsa, Oklahoma — “Okay, Well, we need a place to meet. We have to get a building, where are we going to meet?”

 

The Lord’s reply was:

“You ought to know better than to ask Me a dumb question like that at this stage of your walk with Me. The only thing you should be interested in is ‘what am I saying to the people’.”

 

 

“Whenever anyone asks you where is your church or how many are there — you tell them I have ordered you to tell them from Me — “The only thing you should be asking is what am I saying!'”   — The  Lord Jesus Christ, 1999

 

 

The condition of churches in God’s eyes, while we may approve of ourselves, requires a new move of bringing His people back to Him — to the original “fire” that the first Christians had who saw Him risen from the dead. Mark 16:20 shows a different perspective about church that was not preoccupied with buildings or customer service.

 I believe Jesus when He says he is doing a new move in the earth. Christians must become, again, a unique people who stand out as “the holy people” and powerful against their tormentor (Satan) because they have been with JESUS, preoccupied with hearing and doing His words.

EVERYWHERE —  in houses, in parks, on sea shores, beaches, in waters — just like JESUS — we must live and proclaim His Words with how we live, not just welcoming everyone to come as they are and say that they believe Jesus is the Son of God — then He will start cleaning their un-repented life from their existing sins.

Every purpose for breathing is JESUS and his words turning people from the power of SIN that entangles them and gives Satan rule over their lives.

The only purpose of the church is JESUS  and His WORD — to long for it, live for it, defend it, and proclaim it as we enjoy the unique and privileged position of having fellowship with our Lord, for whom some of you left sin and suffered the loss of everything you had dear — to join to Him forever.

Praise Jesus … For The End of Church As A Public Service!
