What Is Wisdom?

Below is a copy of my answer to John’s great comment on “What Is Wisdom”. I find that I get so involved  in wanting all of us in the Boise/Treasure Valley to cast away our status quo attitudes that I can be ‘verbose”. That’s not Jesus, it’s me! I have turned my reply into a message-article because it was long enough to be one!

Thank you, John. It is kind of you to offer this beautiful comment on “What Is Wisdom” to help everyone including me, for we all learn and grow from Jesus gettng in the midst of our questions and answers . Thank you for all the beautiful and life-strengthening scriptures! May I excerpt your touching conclusion and, humbly, try to take us deeper into the heart of God?

You wrote:

If we would only keep that command, how wonderful it would be. It would be good, but it will make us only “not far away from salvation” — from understanding the heart of God to escape damnation. We don’t want to be not far away. We need to attain salvation.

That command, sorrowfully, can never bring us into actually understanding and expressing the heart of God — which is why God sent JESUS. ONLY in Jesus can we see the express image of God, Himself — meaning we can see His heart.

Only a few hours before being tortured, mocked in a fake trial, and hung to a tree Jesus said:

A “new” commandment I give unto you — “that you love one another AS I HAVE LOVED YOU”.

John 13:34

Mastering that command is my fire! Every minute and hour I am breathing that last command Jesus spoke before agonizingly pouring out his life-blood — for garbage like me! It keeps me alive and on point with my Lord!

Although, most of us who have ever studied the Bible tend to think Jesus said to love God with all your heart and your neighbor as yourself — isn’t it a reality check when we learn Jesus never commanded it at all, but Moses commanded that?

These repetitive and common beliefs that we all face are the reason the Lord guided me to put up “Jesus News” at this Christian Survival Work and, also, why Wednesday evenings we don’t study the Holy Bible as a book — we study JESUS as God who wrote the Book!

As you have reminded us in Deuteronomy 4:1-14 — Moses obeyed God and gave commands from God to the Jews until the Christ would come. Jesus is ‘The Christ’, and he reminded his gainsayers that Moses commanded them to stop following Moses and, instead, follow The Christ whenever He arrived! (Luke 24:44, Hebrews Chapter 1).

 

We must go much higher, John, than the commands God gave to Moses for the original Jewish people. We must step into “faith” in this JESUS and all His authority as God over all people. Now, we obey and trust in the commands He has given to the entire world of people, for everyone to be saved by Jesus!

Below is the hidden wisdom, the mystery of all ages that God chose to reveal in due time through Jesus Christ. To us He reveals it and to those who are still outside of Jesus He hides it.  For those of us who believe Jesus, it is our source of strength that we can live holy:

“Christ in you, the hope of glory”

(Colossians 1:24-29)

“Christ in me,” John, and in you.

In as many as choose to not resist Jesus Christ pulling inside their born again hearts to love just like He does, they will experience His miracle power to love.

Jesus, also, told us:

(1)”Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall never pass away” — Mark 13:31 KJV
(2)”He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day” — John 12:48 KJV

Therefore, I too, am convinced John:

“I am convinced that wisdom in the simplest of terms is the application of the command(s) of Jesus Christ alone, and that His one all-encompassing command (the royal law) is — Love one another exactly as I have loved you.

 

Christ’s new move will return some Christians to loving one another as He has loved us. The only way He has chosen to make the world believe in Him is how Christians treat one another as we preach the Gospel. Amazing wisdom! He says the world will believe in Him when they see how we (Christians)

treat one another.

May I say that in the organized religion Christian system, which I fully abandoned in August 2023, we are so busy trying to impress the sinner-world with our love for them that loving one another falls right through the cracks (I am a living testimony to that, but will share about it in upcoming venues).

My conclusion is, still …

 

Judging myself by Jesus’ command to love one another as He has loved us … wisdom is that “I must be able to go to sleep before God every day FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE with each decision I make today”.
