The Different Stages And Levels Of Death
✂
1. Death is “the condition of God removing from you all grace to repent” and make things right with Him and people, while you are still occupying your body in this earth.
1 John 5:16-17
16 If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.
17 All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.

2. Death is “that moment when JESUS CHRIST commands your spirit to depart from your body” occupying this earth (what we all think of when hearing of a person’s death or thinking about our own time to come).
Revelation 1:18
I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
Hebrews 9:27
27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
2 Peter 1:14
14 Knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed me.

3. Death is “the living dead”. The Christian that has walked away from obedience to Jesus while continuing to live, calling Him Lord, but refusing to return to agreement with Him. In the Parable of the Prodigal Son (representing God and us), the father says “my son was dead and is alive again.” His son was alive, but dead to all relationship with his dad.
Luke 15
18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,
19 And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.
20 And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.
21 And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.
22 But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:

4. Death is “the Dead” — persons who have never known God at all. They are living their own life, their own way, and choosing their own feelings because they do NOT believe Jesus Christ is God to fear and obey. They are what Jesus calls “the lost”
15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;
16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:
17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?
Jesus instructs us, through Luke 15, that a person can be dead spiritually while still alive physically. That’s why Jesus came — we were ALL dead to God in our hearts and minds while being, sometimes, very professional or moral personalities in the eyes of people.
