Worship is obedience from a truthful and loving heart.
A truthful and loving heart with God is a great asset to obtain and gets you great favor with Him. Your soul and spirit survives in this kind of worship and thrives … which He calls worshipping Him in spirit and in truth.
15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.
But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
Jesus calls it “vain worship” when our hearts oppose Him while our actions look like service to Him — it could be preaching, teaching, prayers, church attendance, money offerings, songs, praise, testimonies or anything.
7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
