Modesty is a shame-faced,
often called “shy” feeling.
Modesty is the same humble feeling of reverence for God and the Christ which Jesus had for himself in life and on the Cross.
We have this modesty of our Lord which makes us hold our bodies, clothing, personalities and possessions with dignity and honor toward our Lord Jesus. It’s all about how we handle and carry our Lord, not about ourselves.
Like Jesus, who was shamed and ashamed to have his nakedness revealed while dying on the Cross, we do not willfully put our bodies or its form on display to people.
1 Corinthians 12:23-24
23 And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness.
24 For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked.
