Bitterness is:
Holding or giving safe harbor to bad feelings about a person whom you think has done wrong. Sometimes we are wrong in our view and assessment of a person. God sees them as innocent of what YOU think and righteous with Him.
ONLY God’s view of a person is always the correct truth about them, no matter what you of them — or even what they think of themselves.
Hebrews 12:14-16
14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
15 Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;
16 Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.
