Jesus’ New Move

How Giving-Investors Give

The above Holy Scripture from the Lord Jesus Christ describes giving in Jesus’ Name — giving as Jesus does. It is this kind of pure-heart “all-in” giving that God loves, honors and rewards. It is proven in Isaiah 66:1-2 and Mark 12:44.

The Lord Jesus takes us far beyond a pure heart of tithing “for a duty” to Almighty God. Now He works in us a higher, more intimate heart of love for God as our Father and an “all-in” oneness like Jesus has as our big brother, high priest, and head of our family of God in Heaven and in earth. JESUS is our example of all-in giving.

John 16:15 – “All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.“

Everything inside us and in our possession is His. All we give is for His purpose and motive. Everything He has and is has been set apart and given to us, as Jesus described the relationship:

ALL that I have is yours — for all that I have you gave me — I have only given you back of your own.

We must stay humble to this truth to have God’s health and prospering in life beyond what we have all known from Old Testament tithing.

Jesus’ New Testament is made by his Blood on the Cross and is far more important! Jesus says so in Luke 22:20 and in Hebrews 8;6. The New Testament is a far better covenant between God and those who obey Jesus, Paul says (Hebrews 8:6) that we have better promises, based on a much higher and better relationship with God that is only possible through forsaking the old to believe in and rely on Jesus’ new testament about Himself. How does this look? How does this work? How does JESUS give?

Simple, whenever you receive money into your hands, instead of tithing it, ASK your father,  in Jesus’ name — as Jesus would do — “Father, what do YOU want me to do with ‘your” money? This is all-in oneness with the Lord. It is rest. If you are comfortable tithing — Gos knows your heart is used to it and you ARE doing godliness toward Him — but it is NOT sin to change from tithing to giving ALL.

It is rest because you get to experience what it is like to not feel guilty when the Lord is leading you to do something different with the funds that you were going to tithe with, and be done! He may “confirm” to you to take it and pay off something for the ministry of His word. He may “confirm” to you to take it and pay off something for a brother or sister who needs something. Of course, HE MAY TELL YOU TAKE IT AND RESCUE A PERSON WHO IS FINANCIALLY POOR OR SUFFERING NEED — this is His greatest heart.

It is a wonderful way to live with the Lord — full of adventure and joy! You are God’s investors making things happen! You are His ‘Giving-Investors”.

There is nothing we can give to God that is not ALREADY HIS OWN. Therefore, what we have in Jesus is not a relationship like the persons in the Old Testament who tithed for a symbol of loyalty, patronage and allegiance to the God of Israel. What we have is a “fellowship by Blood” with our very own Father. Everything He has is ours and “everything” we have is His. What our dad is watching is our heart toward Him. Where is your heart with the Lord Jesus Christ and our Father through him? Our big brother Jesus said — ‘where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. There is nothing sinful, wrong or unBiblical about tithing — it’s just inferior since Jesus came and made us “family”. Family does not tithe a “debt” to one another. We are in this together and WHATEVER any one member needs, we all are partakers in their suffering or honor.

What we have is a “fellowship by Blood” with our very own Father. Everything He has is ours and “everything” we have is His.

Once you understand that, you will no longer fear the truth that the first Christians were so in love with one another (for Jesus’ sake), that they were always ready to give by their own personal faith in God, and that He rewarded hundredfold whatever they cheerfully and freely gave. We don’t really believe the Lord today concerning giving freely in love. That’s why we stingily limit our faith to tithing and feeling our conscience has fulfilled its duty! We feel that anything above the tithe is extra and is some kind of gift or favor we are doing for God.

Jesus gave a story example about this new attitude He establishes in His “New Move” which has begun.

Isn’t it more intimate to have a relationship like the Father whose son left him, demanding an inheritance? The older brother was jealous because their dad celebrated His return. Dad said to the son (paraphrase) “son, I love you and EVERYTHING I have is yours. You can freely access it anytime you want! It was right to celebrate. Your brother was dead in his heart toward me … and to you too! Now, his heart is alive to us again!

Let us say in prayer, “Thank you, Father, for the money and other things you have given me to implement your will in the earth. What do you need from me today? All that I have is yours, Father. I cheerfully partner with you.”

Then, just watch the difference in your intimacy with your Father and your big brother Jesus … and your new love for all your brethren He has given you in the Body of Christ!
