Hearing God In Turbulent Times
Hearing God starts and confirms in 66 Books called The Holy Scriptures or The Holy Bible.
ONLY THROUGH HIS WRITTEN WORD the Holy Scriptures (The Holy Bible) does God begin to speak to all Christians. Scripture is the first and foundation way that Jesus speaks to his people.
The Lord reminded me of something, Saturday, April 25, 2020, as I was listening on True God TV to a sister minister and Prophetess, Sis. Arletia Mayfield, the wife of Minister Franklin Mayfield.
Jesus speaks through His CHARACTER, too. Persons giving you the words of the Lord, but treating you and talking to you in the character of Satan or NOT speaking to you from our Lord, Jesus Christ!
Prophetess Arletia Mayfield, wife of Minister Franklin Mayfield
Later, after Jesus Christ baptizes a Christian in the Holy Spirit — with the initial evidence of speaking in spiritual tongues — God speaks by the Holy Spirit, still backing up what Holy Spirit says by speaking to you in the written words of Scripture! NEVER depart from Scripture-speak in hearing God. Joshua 1:8, Luke 21:32-34, Luke 4:1-14
John 10:27 – Jesus said …
27 “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:”
You are not required to receive nor follow in your church, nor in your household, nor in any environment, the rantings of persons who will not subject themselves to Holy Scripture. You must not, or you betray the Lord and begin to destroy your own self!
Observe God’s attitude about those of us who refuse to subject our knowledge or spiritual experiences to the Written Word of God compared to those who fight off temptation to depart from “what is written.”
1 Timothy 6:3-5
3 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;
4 He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,
5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.
11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
“Hearing God” At Higher Levels: Baptism In The Holy Spirit
Jesus speaks through the written Holy Scriptures to every Christian, but “hearing God” at higher levels requires “a miracle” experience — being Baptized in the Holy Spirit by Jesus Christ, Himself. It is evidenced always by the initial miracle of other tongues (language of the Holy Ghost). This experience is critical because it is how Jesus ushers you into the realm of walking with Him in the same way He walked with the Father when he was in the earth!
By, the initial evidence of speaking in other tongues (spiritual language as the Holy Spirit gives the utterance), Jesus Christ proves to you and everyone around you at that moment, that He has done this immersion to you.
This special IMMERSION introduces a Christian brother or sister into a regular life of miracles in the Holy Ghost and “regular” hearing God in the miracle realm. It is not given for you to regard yourself as a “star” of spiritual powers, craving attention, and personal glory to yourself. The Holy Ghost testifies of Jesus — NOT YOU or ME!
28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.
The gift that every Christian should be seeking and anticipating is that day when Jesus Christ, invisibly, lays His hands on you and immerses you in miracle powers from Himself that come upon you through His Spirit. See 1 Corinthians 12.
No human being can carry out baptizing you in the Holy Ghost (Holy Spirit). The Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a privilege that Jesus reserves for himself to “usher” the non-doubting Christian into a higher level of “hearing God” and the realm of miracles.
Again, the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a privilege that Jesus reserves for himself to “usher” the non-doubting Christian into a higher level of “hearing God” and regular manifestations of His miracle power!
The Baptism in the Holy Spirit Must Be Censured
Not every experience is the pure Baptism by Jesus in the Holy Spirit. Christians have the right to “censure your Baptism and judge if it really was Jesus’ baptism as taught in the written Word of God, the Holy Scriptures”.
Those who are worshiping a false, Imposter Jesus CANNOT know the Holy Spirit — the real JESUS CHRIST said so in John 14:15-17. Such religious persons and clergy do preach, write about, and experience a demon posing as holy spirit.
His love requires me to tell you this.
We must confess that censuring spiritual experiences — visitations, words, angels, God, Jesus — applies even to those of us who ARE worshiping the real Jesus!
God speaks to “all” Christians, first, through his Holy Scriptures. Therefore, those Christians who are “hearing God” at a higher level through being baptized in the Holy Spirit must censure what they are hearing, seeing, feeling, experiencing in the invisible spirit realm through the “filter” of Holy Scripture, particularly the New Testament of Jesus, Himself.
The goal of the Holy Spirit’s power gifts given to Christians is to strengthen and develop oneself, other Christians, and churches — in the faith of Jesus Christ that is solidly grounded in Holy Scripture. Any contending against Scripture proves we are seeking attention and glory to come to ourselves — not seeking love for the church and other Christians, nor the Name of Jesus Christ. More important — it proves that the spirit moving a person is NOT the HOLY Spirit from Jesus Christ that one is baptized into.
It is the duty of every Christian to censure his or her spiritual experiences against the non-changing rock of the Holy Words of God in Scripture! The moment you are so enamored with your spiritual experience that you are unwilling to prove it –test it through Holy Scripture — then you have become satanic deceived and preoccupied with your own desire for vainglory. The Scriptures prove that you have become this kind of dangerous person in 1 Timothy 6:3-5.
The Christian brother or sister who becomes the kind of man or woman described in 1 Timothy 6:3-5 must not be trusted by other Christians that are seeking the same kind of life with Jesus that the first Christians had. The “spirit of error” (1 John 4) operating on them will defile, pervert, confuse, corrupt your own understanding of Holy Scripture and the Holy Spirit’s ways.
It grieves Jesus, but a fallen brother or sister will always find those Christians willing to hang with them in their delusion (the blind lead the blind, the world loves its own, the world hates the righteous, evil communications corrupt good manners). Willingness to accommodate a Christian brother or sister who has fallen according to 1 Timothy 6:3-5 leads to idolatrous worship of “church growth” agendas and denominational loyalties instead of loyalty to Christ and love for that soul!
Accepting contentious brethren leads to creating religious worship, denominations, and even cults built upon that person’s mistaken beliefs or spiritual experiences. Some say they had an experience or visitation with Jesus, God, or an angel. EVERY cult began this way.
Dying In Church
Sadly, brothers and sisters who have erred in Scripture or spiritual experience will always be able to find a pastor or church fellowship willing to accept them IN THEIR CURRENT CONDITION. These pastors “err” (1 John 4) by mistaking the person as having a need for spiritual growth, aka immaturity, in development as a Christian. Sorry to have to admit it, but often the motive is to gain more members, also more money. Other times, it is a sincere motive that wants to help the person become strong via exposure to weekly preaching, teaching, and fellowship in a church environment.
However, mistaking defiance of Holy Scripture or even “error” (James 5:20) as simple immaturity allows the person to DIE spiritually even while participating as a member in a church.
DEATH is when the day comes that you won’t be able to tell that person (in their words, motives, and behaviors) from any other sinner in the world who has strong ideas about God. Most unsaved persons have at least some religious attitudes and behaviors — but Full-Gospel preachers and Christians know that does not make them SAVED!
Jesus said, that kind of person does not need spiritual maturity, they need LOVE THAT DISCIPLINES.
If the Christian brother or sister will not repent, love must dismiss from your fellowship — “from such withdraw” . 1 Timothy 6:5
Scripture Woes For Pastors Who Don’t Censure
Scripture reveals woe comes to the pastor who does not know the difference between someone growing in Christ and a rebel that shrewdly and manipulatively is using “spiritual growth” as an excuse for their outright disobedience to the written Word of God and defiance of Jesus Christ — the Head of every church!
Scripture reveals woe comes to the pastor who helps satan destroy a soul by welcoming and enabling them to continue their presence among the rest of the brethren when they do repeated acts of harm to others. Jesus will deal with such a pastor in His own time and on His own terms. Such Pastors are the reason for things like what happened in the Catholic organization. There were plenty cries for help to those in charge, but who cared! They had to keep their outward appearance growing strong! This can happen to any of pastor, so I’m not judging … just making it plain so I don’t deceive myself.
Scripture reveals woe comes to the pastor when a member has been reported regularly committing against-God behaviors, but the pastor is so bent on maintaining attendance, keeping church growth numbers up, protecting appearance … and money … that the pastor excuses the member’s behavior as “they need compassion and patience to grow”. That is called “healing the sins of God’s people lightly” — like putting a small bandage on an bleeding artery! God hates it! It’s like giving a child a light tap on the back of the hand for hitting their brother or sister with a rock!
How Denomination Loyalty Perverts Hearing God
The moment you are so enamored with your spiritual experience that you are unwilling to prove it (test it through Scripture) for protecting yourself and for the loving protection of your other Christian brethren, you have become satanic deceived.
At that point, you must not be trusted by other Christians seeking the same kind of life with Jesus that the first Christians had! Yes, you will always find those Christians willing to hang with you in your delusion — which leads to “denominationalism” and cults.
The Baptism in the Holy Spirit is the gift that Jesus, specifically, came to bring to earth, promised by the Father. It redeems His believing followers back to the original condition of fellowshipping in miracles with God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit which Jesus did when here.
NOTHING of your Christian experience will replace the intimacy of fellowship in the powers of the Holy Ghost which you were created for. You must not deprive yourself by doubting, rejecting, or opposing this testimony from Jesus Christ, Himself, as given throughout the New Testament. His testimony about being able to “hear God” at this miracle level, actually, started in the Old Testament — the prophecy of Joel. Both Old and New Testament confirm one another.
When a Christian chooses to doubt, reject, or oppose the teachings of the Lord, while continuing in church attendance and ceremony, weekly, he or she becomes “seared” in their conscience, hardened in their hearts to the Word, and dangerously deceived — meaning dangerous to the spiritual health of other Christians listening to them. They can also become a “denominational Christian”.
A denominational Christian chooses partials of the Holy Scriptures for finding other Christians to join with. However, such “do not continue to seek” the fullness of the Gospel that Jesus preached. Paul said, “my conscience is clear for during the space of three years, I have ‘fully’ preached the Gospel to you”.
A loyal denominational Christian is content with what their religious group has settled on EVEN IF IT IGNORES SCRIPTURE. Let’s choose to press for the mark as Christ’s Apostle, Paul, taught us. Let’s have no loyalties but to Christ!
It’s okay that EVERY Christian clings to the partial understandings that Christ gives us through the preaching of anointed Gospel Ministers (Ephesians 4:11-16). We ALL seek fellowship with other Christians in the same mind who are always learning! This is normal spiritual growth and maturity. There is nothing wrong with that. The problem with denominationalism is not continuing to seek the truth, not continuing to learn the full Gospel that Jesus preached. John 8:31
In those partial areas, where Jesus’ words are rejected, the spiritual life of that Pastor or Christian brother or sister becomes dry. For example, if the Lord’s testimony that he is committed to heal you is doubted — you become a Christian who, readily, accepts the powers of Satan coming against your body and will chalk it up to “that’s just the way it is”.
This dry and lower level of Christian living creates a standard that causes those in that group to no longer expect Jesus to show up in their life or church meetings with miracles for them. The Baptism in the Holy Spirit with the initial miracle of speaking in languages of the Holy Spirit will put and end to “dry” Christian living.
Protect Your Hearing God
Due to “dry” living of those who have rejected the Baptism in the Holy Spirit by Jesus Christ — these will envy, mock, ridicule, or seek to discredit other Christians who are, regularly, “hearing God” at a different level. That next level comes with the precious experience of Jesus baptizing you in the Holy Spirit. Of course, for the Word’s sake, persecutions from spirit and man will come with it. Mark 4:1-25
You will hear “dry” Christians attempt to “slight” you or stir suspicion that you are outside the Bible with their statements like: “I’ve never heard anybody say that God talks to them all the time, like you say.”
This statement comes because God does NOT talk to them as He talks to you. Jesus cannot talk to them like he talks to you because they have doubted, rejected, or opposed Him in his own promise. He wants to, just as he talked “regular” with Adam and Eve before the fall. Thanks be to God, the Father, Jesus has come and redeemed all that! However, He will not override your holy, sacred, free-will to choose. If you don’t want it, He won’t give it. YOU must take the initiative in EVERYTHING and ANYTHING you want from God!
Let us cease hiding the truth about our doubting and rejecting Jesus’ promises to us. Let us cease doubting and rejecting — not only the Baptism, but ANY promises from His word to us, about anything in this life!
Call upon the name of Jesus Christ. Ask Him to forgive us, wash ALL doubt out of us, and, truly, be our Lord, again — who decides on His terms what we think. Then, decide to commit to Him ALL “hearing God” by humbling ourselves to the correction and guidance of Holy Scripture.
